Bad Ragaz,
Halliwick & Watsu
Healing begins when your nervous system feels safe.
True rehabilitation is about more than just repairing tissue; it is about retraining your body to trust movement again. We combine three foundational warm-water methods to melt away chronic stiffness and ease persistent pain. You can finally let go of the tension that holds you back.
A gravity-neutral environment also facilitates movement for neurological challenges. Whether you’re recovering from a stroke, managing a journey through Parkinsons or Motor Neurone Disease, floated movement can re-develop neural pathways to maximise your progress without the fear of falling that limits everything in daily life.
Quieting the Guarded Body
Persistent pain changes how you move.
We understand how debilitating chronic discomfort can be. When joints ache or nerve irritation lingers, your brain instinctively tightens your muscles to protect you from harm. This natural defence mechanism often leads to exhaustion and rigid stiffness.
At Aquatic Therapeutics, we use the calming power of warm water to break this cycle.
By floating in a supported, weightless environment, we take the heavy mechanical pressure off your spine and aching joints. Your nervous system shifts out of its guarded, defensive state. Once your body realises it is safe, deep fascial restrictions dissolve without sharp pain.
The Bad Ragaz Ring Method
Rebuild strength without heavy joint impact.
The Bad Ragaz Ring Method is a precise, active rehabilitation technique. We support your body horizontally in the water using specialised flotation rings around your neck, pelvis, and ankles. Our therapists then guide you through targeted resistance patterns that mirror natural, everyday movement.
Because the water supports your body weight, your joints move freely without painful compression. This method is incredibly effective for re-educating weak muscles after orthopaedic surgery, joint replacements, or spinal injury. It restores your physical capacity safely and systematically.
Watsu: Deep Neuromuscular Reset
Experience profound relief from physical tension.
Watsu combines gentle, floating support with rhythmic, flowing stretches inspired by Zen Shiatsu. While you float effortlessly in our warm pool, your therapist continuously supports your head and spine, moving your body through fluid, wave-like motions.
This weightless movement decompresses your spine and gently stretches your connective tissue. More importantly, it stimulates a deep relaxation response that lowers stress hormones and quiets sensitive nervous systems. Watsu is wonderfully therapeutic for chronic pain, fibromyalgia, severe muscle spasms, and post-injury anxiety.
Ai Chi: Active Balance and Breath
Restore your coordination and physical confidence.
Ai Chi is an active, standing aquatic practice that bridges gentle water therapy with upright functional movement. Moving through chest-deep warm water, we combine deep, diaphragmatic breathing with slow, sweeping movements of your arms, legs, and torso.
The natural buoyancy and resistance of the water challenge your balance while providing constant, comforting support. Ai Chi helps you regain joint proprioception, improve postural stability, and rebuild trust in your balance before progressing to land-based strength training.
