SEN Aquatic
Therapy
Moving freely should be a joy, not a chore.
Your child deserves rehabilitation that works with their unique body, not against it.
We use the soothing support of warm water to transform complex physical therapy into playful, confident movement exploration. You are supported by a team who genuinely understands your family's journey.
Easing the Sensory & Physical Journey
Growing up shouldn't feel like a clinical battleground.
We understand how intimidating traditional physical therapy can feel for children and young adults with Special Educational Needs. When sensory overload meets tight, guarded muscles, progress often stalls. But neurodiversity and physical rehabilitation don't have to be at odds.
At Aquatic Therapeutics, we believe in a smarter, kinder way to build strength.
By stepping into the comforting warmth of our pool, we remove the heavy pull of gravity and quiet the noisy outside world. Buoyancy supports your child's body weight, allowing tight muscles to relax and lengthen naturally. Once their nervous system feels safe, we guide them through playful, structured movements that build coordination, balance, and real physical confidence.
Building Resilience Across Every Environment
We bridge the gap between gentle sensory exploration and lasting physical capacity. Your child's plan adapts to exactly what their nervous system is ready for today.
Finding Comfort in the Water
New spaces can feel overwhelming. We start by helping your child feel completely safe and at home in our pool.
We use the soothing warmth of the water to remove the heavy pull of gravity and quiet the noisy outside world. Our pool at the Aspire Leisure Centre remains comfortably shallow throughout your visit, and poolside wheelchairs make entering the water effortless. Your child can explore the water at their own pace without ever feeling rushed or pressured.
Splashing Into Confidence
Therapy works best when it looks like play. Once your child feels secure, Harrison turns exercise into joyful movement games. We challenge balance and coordination by catching floating toys, making waves, and exploring how water buoyancy supports the body.
Constant, gentle water pressure acts like a soothing weighted blanket, helping your child build natural physical confidence and spatial awareness while having a genuinely good time.
Gentle Movement for Growing Bodies
We never underestimate what your child can achieve. As your child’s comfort grows, we blend playful exploration with the foundational aquatic principles.
We incorporate gentle elements of Watsu, Ai Chi, and the Bad Ragaz Ring Method to develop control over reflexes and soften rigid muscle tone. Your child builds functional core strength and everyday physical capacity that supports them at school, at home, and beyond.
Pricing
We don’t want any nasty surprises, so we are always clear and upfront about our pricing. Our rates are based on the standard pricing for physiotherapy in our area, plus an adjustment for the additional rental costs we incur for the pool at Aspire.
We happily accept cash, direct bank transfers, or secure card payments. You can easily discuss your preferred method directly with your therapist.
